Summary

Rachel and Joel Matthews lived next door to Chris and Scott Wilson. Not only were the four best friends, but they were also preppers, believing that they needed to be prepared for the troubled times they firmly believed were coming. Although they dearly wished they could afford to purchase some kind of “bug-out” location, none of them had that kind of money. In spite of their prepping, the four led simple, normal lives. Rachel was a deli supervisor, Joel an electrician, Scott a chef, and Chris worked in a big-box store. Rachel and Chris were also both avid quilters, and Rachel harbored a dream that someday, she would be able to quit the deli and open a quilter’s retreat.

After purchasing a lucky winning lottery ticket, the four friends were able to purchase property to use not only as a quilters’ retreat, but also as a recreational ranch that doubled as a safe place to go in time of trouble. Little did they know that they purchased the property in the nick of time, as trouble was rapidly approaching.

As they gathered friends and family together for a practice run before opening Serendipity Ranch to the public, a crisis was developing that would instantly change everything about the world in which they lived–and survival was not guaranteed.

Was all of their prepping enough? Would they manage to survive the crisis? Would they and their families and friends be safe from all of the evil let loose in the world by this sudden catastrophe?

Depends on what you expect from this book

I really enjoyed listening to this, but would I recommend it? , The large majority of this story is the preparation side of post apocalypse ,I personally enjoy it and see myself doing the same things in the situation, The characters are nicely grounded. the last act if when the story pay off happens, so if you enjoy the prep side and with the last portion of the story having a satisfying pay off, then I'd say yes this book if for you.
christopher lane is 5 stars as usual.
