Summary

Sex, sex, sex. It sells, and men are the number one customer! This makes women have to be defensive about it, because if you like a guy and don't have sex with him, then he will leave - but he gets sex and gets bored, he will also leave. What is a woman to do?

This book will, once and for all, tell you how are you giving sex before the movies, and it's wrong. Do you think he wants to go to the movies now after sex? We know the answer is no. We have to stop having sex before the movies.

Empowered and rejuvenated

I feel I have been in a rut for a while and this book has been a guiding light. As a nation, sex has become desensitized and it really shouldn't. As a woman, I am very thankful for this book as it has given me a huge confidence boost and a new lease on my dating life. Chapter 7 alone is worth the listen, but the auidobook has been a great listen. I feel I have a healthier outlook on dating and am looking forward to the next chapter in my life!

It is all about sex?

The author has done a good job in making the book simple and easy to read. The book got me thinking whether it is all about sex or it about love?.Does sex has to be a prerequisite for any activity? Where are the standards that makes it wrong at a particular time or point. All in all it is an interesting book full with suspense and reasons for one to be curious about reading the book till the end.

If you're single, you must listen!

This book is great for young women setting out into the world after high school or any woman who is in the dating realm. The books may have a bold title but the discussions in the book are real and are there to guide you to be able to make your own decisions on how you wish to control what happens when dating someone. With today's pressures, this book brings it back to the forefront that sex is not something that is exchanged for a dinner and is not owed to anyone. I enjoyed chapter 3 that really started to dive in to this matter. The chapter focuses on your self worth and how it's time to take it back and protect it. This book does not shy away from topics that need to be discussed. Highly recommend this book for women and mothers of older daughters.

Such a Great Resource

I highly recommend this book! The narrative is fitting for both men and women. Particularly useful for women post high school as well as women venturing into the dating sphere. Of specific importance is the authors coverage of societal norms where we are told by social media, movies, TV that sex and romance are casual endeavors meant to be experienced as simply as riding a ferris wheel or going to an amusement park. This is also called the hook up culture that we are surrounded by. The sad truth is that human emotions are impulsive and dating sites, even for the serious dater can well lead to a mismatch and hurt feelings. One party may be looking for a hook up and the other a serious relationship and both parties leave unsatisfied. The exchanges within the book are a guide to navigate your decisions and how your actions can control the outcome of dating adventures. This book points out that sex is not something trivial to be given because you let your date buy dinner or went to a party and had a good time so why not. Protecting your self worth is paramount and this book is an ideal guide to keeping it high.

WOW! Right on Point !

This book was truly amazing from start to finish! I had to listen to the book in it’s entirety without any breaks. I was completely riveted by the non-conventional approach the author takes to the subject. In this day and age, any type of intimacy is completely put on a pedestal whether a person is married or not. I truly appreciate the author going against the norm and advocating for waiting to experience this most precious gift with a lifetime partner.

The examples in this book were amazing. I truly enjoyed listening to the various scenarios that many women in particular have to deal with when they decide they would like to wait for a long-term partner in order to have sex. I was so happy that the author encourages us not to accept the negative treatment that some people give after they hear our decision to wait. It is true, instead of them rejecting us, it should be the other way around. If someone doesn’t value another’s thoughts and belief systems, they are not the right choice anyway.

I have a friend who is almost 40 and she is still waiting to experience this wonderful gift with her husband. Truly, people do look at her as if she is an anomaly. Some don’t even believe that she has waited this long. She has had to endure a lot of ridicule and a lot of rejection. Still, she has maintained her stance and believes that she is “worth the wait”. When the author indicated that less than 5% of the population pass their 30s make this decision, I appreciate my friends’ decision more than ever.

I loved how the author illustrated how we are conditioned to believe that sex and romance should be experienced casually. We are inundated with it from watching romantic movies and TV shows, advocating the norm of casual hook ups. I have friends who are on these casual sites, and nothing good truly comes of it. Sometimes people end up “catching feelings” while the other person maintains the “hook up” mind. Although they may know what they sign up for, we are all human and our emotions are sometimes not as easily controlled.

I truly believe that everyone should read this book or listen to it. It completely sheds a new light on a subject that has been with us since the beginning of time. Four thumbs up for this book. I’m using both hands and feet on this one!

A very important book

I believe this book should be required reading for young western women who have been conditioned to devalue their own bodies and give sex away casually and without meaning. Sharing physical intimacy with a man is also sharing emotional and mental intimacy and doing it without truly being ready is a betrayal of your own self. But most women don't have a proper sense of self, we are not brought up to have boundaries and self-worth, and so we go along with the crowd. Ironically the more you value yourself the more others will value you.
