Summary
Serious men don’t eat red Popsicles.
Brett Hunter’s life isn’t unicorns and rainbows, and it sure isn’t sparkles. He’s a businessman, a disciplined man, a money man, and if he ever believed in magic, it was a long time ago. He’s not a hero, and he doesn't play one on TV. Oh, and he really doesn't like the water.
What’s he doing, then, on an Australian beach in a custom-made Italian suit, up to his waist in the waves and helping a red-haired mermaid save the day?
No matter how crazy his life gets, not being in control isn’t an option, and neither is veering from his path or falling for mermaids. Also, serious men don’t eat red Popsicles.

Hot, funny, tender and sweet listening
Funny, tender, hot and sweet with a dash of drama - this is such an appealing listen. Part of the beauty of it for me, having read the book, was that I couldn’t rush through in my eagerness to find out what happened next. I was able to savour each favourite moment and to find some new ones from the narration.
The characters come alive in Emma Wilder’s narration, she has great variety of tone and depth. The challenge for any narrator has to be to get the opposite sex to sound believable- Emma Wilder nails it! Brett’s husky, moderated voice matched his character perfectly and Willow’s spirit and vulnerability shone through.
If you’ve read the book, you’ll love the narration.
If you’re new to it, you’ll love the characterisation, the insights and the magic moments that author Rosalind James continues to deliver.

Fun enjoyable listen
The sinful series has yet to disappoint. Book 3 expands the Sinful Montana series world bringing secondary character Brett from the 1st books front and centre in a fun and creative way. Add in Willow a free spirit with some yummy sounding treats topped off with just the right blend of humor and drama and you have got yourself a great listen. Emma Wilder did a brilliant job bringing the characters to life.
“I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.”

Excellent in parts, let down by cliches
The first part of this romance between international property developer Brett and caterer Willow was really good. Dual POV was excellent as it gave a real insight into both characters. Willow was a brilliant chef, who had just brought into an established catering company. She was catering an event for Brett’s company, shortly after they had met in a weird shark encounter on the beach.
Their developing romance was genuine, but then the story moves into Willow’s business issues and suddenly it was difficult to respect a woman who spends her inheritance on a business partnership but never looks at the books, does not understand basic accounting and does not even seem to know the budget of the events she is catering. It then turns all a bit cliché as Brett flies her away on an overseas holiday – first class of course- to a series of luxury hotels and houses, gives her money for clothes, buys her jewellery and solves all her problems.
I am a big fan of Rosalind James, and although I did enjoy listening to this book, it is not one of my favourites.
