Summary

The shape of ancient evil

A series of grisly murders rocks London. At each location, only a jumble of bones remains of the deceased, along with a bizarre sphere covered in strange symbols. The son of the latest victim seeks the help of Sherlock Holmes and his former partner, Dr. John Watson.

They discover the common thread tying together the murders. Bizarre geometries, based on ancient schematics, enable otherworldly creatures to enter our dimension, seeking to wreak havoc and destruction.

The persons responsible are gaining so much power that even Holmes’ greatest enemy fears them - to the point that he seeks an unholy alliance.

not the best

I thought it was ok to pass the time but is nothing like the originals which are a world apart, this story takes away everything that was good about Holmes and leaves something completely different.

amazing!

Simultaneously the best sherlock Holmes and Lovecraft novel I've ever read! I know this is a heretical thing to say, but it's true!

Poor writing and an insult to Sherlock Holmes

Don’t make the mistake into thinking this is by James Lovegrove as I did. It is tedious, odious and revels in unnecessary descriptions of depraved violence. The dialogue is monotonous and repetitive . There is nothing to recommend this book or author. I eventually gave up before finishing but no matter as the story had no substance anyway

Way too graphic discriptions

Discriptions of killings way too graphic and utterly dicusting and unessasery made me sick and spoilt sherlock holmes for me.Thia would have been a good storey except for that.

very poor representation

I did not enjoy this book, it is too dark and depicts a poor representation of sherlock holmes. I stopped listening after a couple of hours. I would not recommend this to anyone.
