Summary
Don’t look behind you. Resist with all your power. He’ll go away, perhaps, as long as you don’t look. Arthur Bannister is back for another term at Shiverton Hall, where eerie events are unfolding. First, a burned stranger shows up in the middle of the night uttering dire warnings. Then a young boy disappears, leaving behind only an ancient book as a clue. And then there’s that dreadful feeling Arthur has that he’s being watched...
Full of spine-chilling tales and deliciously creepy characters, this second story from Shiverton Hall is enough to make you leave the lights on at night.

Great story and would definitely read it again
A great performance but some characters did not sound like I thought they would speak

Wonderful continuation of a fantastic tale.
I first read Shiverton Hall about 7 years ago when I was 15. I loved it then, and although it is considered a 'Young Adult Novel' I still enjoyed it when I dug it out of my collection again last year. I was actually looking for Emerald's new Adult Horror fiction book 'Monsters' when I came across the sequel, and although I felt a little old to be reading it I gave it a go anyway. I wasn't disappointed, and to be honest I wish she would continue the Shiverton series. The ending was very abrupt and although this could be considered purposeful (allowing the reader to use their imagination) I would like to know for certain what happens next. Either way, a great read for young adults, or adults who still enjoy children's literature such as myself.

Loved it …but weird!
I enjoyed this, loved book one, hoping she does a book three. But it is scary .. you think about for a long time. Narrator is exceptional.
