Summary
This assignment takes them to upstate New York where Brenda Two Kettles, an elder of the Oneida tribe, was found dead in a cornfield, every major bone in her body shattered. She seems to have fallen from the sky, like Sky Woman of the Oneida creation myth. When Anna and Emmett discover that Brenda was the center of a bitter land dispute between Indians and whites, they are sure she was murdered. Their investigation brings them face to face with the dangers of race war, and soon their own lives depend on Anna's instincts and her ability to see the line where myth and reality come together.

Good book
I wasn't keen on the narrator, not good, but persevered to keep the continuity.

The Best So Far
I'm following this series and, in my opinion, this is the best so far, although the violence is a little hard to deal with in places. I hope this doesn't mean that the violence will become increasingly graphic as the series progresses. I like the way the stories link modern day events and politics to native wisdom and beliefs, and I particularly like the two central characters. This book was a little lighter on their psychological difficulties and that was an improvement.
At first, I was put off by the lighter tone of this narrator, but came to like it, especially in the voice of Anna.

Narrator totally unsuitable
Sorry, but after the previous narrator’s dark chocolate tones, this guy was all feather and fluff NOT my ideal narrator for these great listens.

Marvellous
Thoroughly enjoyable the best one from Kirk Mitchell I've listened to to date, I even managed to get used to and enjoy the dramatic change of narrator.

What a let down in narrator
Story good. Narrator bad. There were times where I lost the thread from unimaginable voice. Bring back the original in the next book

lousy narrator
I know that it's hard to hear a different narrator than the one you've got used to, but this guy is awful! I felt his 'native American' accent was insulting, and mildly amusing, implying that all sound the same regardless of sex, age, or where the person grew up. I found it difficult to judge the quality of the story through the narration, and am just glad to see that the original narrator is back for the next story.
