Summary
Seven guests. Seven secrets. One killer. Do you dare to sleep?
All Anna wants is to be able to sleep. But crushing insomnia, terrifying night terrors and memories of that terrible night are making it impossible. If only she didn’t feel so guilty....
To escape her past, Anna takes a job at a hotel on the remote Scottish island of Rum, but when seven guests join her, what started as a retreat from the world turns into a deadly nightmare.
Each of the guests has a secret, but one of them is lying—about who they are and why they're on the island. There's a murderer staying in the Bay View hotel. And they've set their sights on Anna.
Seven strangers. Seven secrets. One deadly lie.
Someone’s going to sleep and never wake up....
Critic reviews
"Beware! Sleep does not do what it says on the tin: I was awake until the small hours under its dark and twisty spell." (Fiona Barton)
"Sleep kept me awake until the early hours...extremely creepy, atmospheric and twisty. I never guessed that ending!" (Claire Douglas)
"Another cracking psychological thriller from CL Taylor. Sleep will keep you up all night." (Mark Edwards)

Twisted and turned with great pace
I loved this book. I guess who the villain was relatively early but the book keeps you guessing with teasers all the way through so I was never certain until it was revealed. Lots of action and interesting characters. Interesting setting too. Really like the author and the narrator.

Well written and well read
Enjoyed this book alot. I hate it when a book title gives the plot away and luckily this was not the case. I love that these is an extra short story written & read by the author - a really lovely little gothic treat

It's like an ITV3 whodunit
Definitely get at the moment while £3 sale still on!
3.5 better than 3 as it kept my interest all the way through wanting to go back to find out more, not quite a 4
Reminded me of what you'd watch on ITV 3, I enjoyed it,

Expected more
I thought there would be a much better twist in the tail than there was. It's okay but I wouldn't recommend it.

Loved it!
C.L. Taylor is a new author for me and I am so pleased I took a chance. She takes the very well worn device of guests trapped in a remote hotel by a storm and runs with it. Very clever twists and turns. The narrator was perfect .

Not the best
This was quite interesting. My only issue was the narration. Whilst she’s very good, so many different characters, some sounded old and doddering which jarred with their descriptions and actions. I find that off putting. One thing which does annoy me is when you think you have x time left in the story for it to suddenly end and to find a message from the author. Please tell us this will happen!
In addition, I don’t like short stories, many do, nor do I like it when authors narrate their own work, again many do. I didn’t listen to it so don’t know if it was enjoyable.
