Summary

Who is the man behind the many voices of Rob Brydon? Read by the man himself, this audiobook memoir will reveal the warm heart behind one of Britain's favourite impressionists.

A multi-award-winning actor, writer, comedian and presenter known for his warmth, humour and inspired impressions, Rob Brydon has quickly become one of our very favourite entertainers. But there was a time when it looked like all we'd hear of Rob was his gifted voice.

Growing up in South Wales, Rob had a passion for radio and soon the Welsh airwaves resounded to his hearty burr. However, these were followed by years of misadventure and struggle, before, in the TV series Marion and Geoff and Gavin and Stacey, Rob at last tickled the nation's funny bone. The rest, as they say, is history. Or in his case autobiography.

A Small Man in a Book is a funny, heartfelt, honest, sometimes sad, but mainly funny, memoir of how a young man from Wales very, very slowly became an overnight success.

pleasant and happy listening

loved it. Allowed me to hear how Rob moved to the place his life is at today and fought hard in a tough business.

Lost opportunity

I love Rob but was very disappointed that this ended just at the point he got successful.

Hope Rob writes a sequel

I loved this little book. The authors tells his story perfectly. I hope that he one day he writes a sequel as this story end just as the Gavin and Stacey story is about to begin.

interesting book with a slightly ordinary life

was a good book. Rob has got excellent use to liven any sentence. interesting how late Rob was to get his break. and interesting that he did it by making his own material. even before Gavin and Stacey.

Great book

I love the down to earth nature of both Rob's story and the way he tells it. Will be listening again very soon. Hope for a follow up with more detail on Gavin & Stacey and WILTY

Good story but hard to follow

It took me about 6 months to have the want to finish this book. While I did enjoy the story, it wasn't the most engaging.

Quietly Entertaining

Rob delivers this story with relaxed and entertaining style. Not too much from his childhood as other autobiographies but enough to paint a picture of his life. I found it an entertaining and enjoyable book
