Summary

Steve Jobs is not just "the man behind the bitten apple" logo we all know so well, he is the founder of the world’s first trillion ($1,000,000,000,000) dollar company.

He is more than an ordinary man; he is, himself, a legend.

During his time on earth, his contribution toward the betterment of mankind was far more than what most people realize or understand. His ideas on aesthetics and his insistence on simplifying came from his natural ability to focus on the necessary and eject the rest. He understood the human condition and excelled at extracting the best for them and the best from them.

As all great men before him, and surely after him, he was misunderstood in many ways - from the reasons for his temperament to his ability to convert thought to action and action into product.

This audiobook takes you into the life of Steve Jobs more than just the events that happened in his life - but the workings of his mind as he handled those events and how me constantly moved forward with singular purpose and discipline of thought.

There are many areas of his life that seem familiar to us because we experience similar things. We have the same concerns, the same worries, the same reasons to laugh, and the same reasons to cry, but Steve shows us the way to keep moving forward and to make this a better place in every way possible.

This audiobook takes you on a journey of discovery - what you will find at the end of it is a better understanding of a man who did things very differently given the same set of circumstances we all experience in one way or another - and he took those circumstances and made them work - not just for him, but for the world around him as well.

Good one!

Great book, great life story, great narrative. You learn how to love and hate the guy and the narration makes for a even greater experience without over acting the characters.

My favorite book of the year

There is so much to know and learn about Steve Jobs. JR MacGregor gives a fair view of Jobs and his career/life. If anything, JR MacGregor could be partial to Jobs. I expect that because he and Jobs got to know each other through writing the book. I wouldn't have enjoyed a reputation smashing story of Jobs, however, so I was glad to listen so many positives of Jobs' life, along with the negatives. I respect Jobs more after listening this. I love the author's writing style.

Genius is rarely nice

Loved the book! I thought the author was clear and honest and came away with the realization that we don't have to like Jobs to appreciate his genius and commitment to excellent products and experiences.

JR MacGregor Does it Again

Such a great book that trying to be as fair as it can be to truth. No matter where you stand with Jobs or Apple, this book does a fair job retelling his story.

Believable and well written

JR MacGregor's biography of Steve Jobs was unencumbered by Steve Job's editing eye.... in fact Jobs didn't want to even see it as it progressed, and the only editing that Jobs insisted on was the cover art for the book. I found the work nicely written and it flowed smoothly and logically. I never found it laborious or tedious as some have, and actually relished every opportunity to listen it whenever I could.

Will cherish forever.

This book completely changed my perception on what makes humans so great. Steve Jobs is truly inspiring for having the ability to not only believe 1000% in himself but make others believe in themselves as well.
