Summary
From the USA Today best-selling author of Dragon School comes the first novel in a vibrant, intricate fantasy world filled with unexpected adventure.
Legends used to walk the Dragonblood Plains - great heroes now dead who left bloody scars across the face of the world. They are waking.
For Tamerlan - an alchemist’s apprentice, sold to the guild in his teens - the only thing that matters is his desperate quest to save his sister from being sacrificed to the dragon at the height of the Summernight festival.
For Marielle - a Scenter for the Jingen City Watch who can read spiritual residues - all that matters is serving justice to protect her city.
But when Tamerlan stumbles upon an ancient magic that calls the Legends forth, and Marielle scents what he’s done and starts her pursuit, they begin a chain of events that can’t be stopped - a chain that will wake the Legends, call the dragons, and change everything.
Summernight is book one of the Bridge of Legends series. Leap into this gripping fantasy story of dragons, legends, and misused power, that fans are calling "addictive" and “spellbinding”.

Thrilling Adventure
Loved Tamerlan and Marielle’s beginning. Theirs is an adventure that sucked me right in and made me feel as though I was right there along side them. Learning about the magical history of the town of Jingen and unearthing some of it’s long forgotten truths all while trying to rescue Tamerlan’s sister. It’s like a thrilling rollercoaster ride with lots of twists, turns and surprises.
Tamerlan and Marielle are great characters. It was easy to like them. I also found myself very curious about their new friend Jhinn. I can’t wait to find out more about him and see where the next part of their journey takes them.

Summernight
Summer night is the first in the series Bridge of legends. When Tamerlan finds out his sister is going to be sacrificed to keep a dragon sleeping what is he willing to do to save her and Marielle a law inforcer who can smell emotions and magic is on his trail. There is more to the story and you will have to read /listen to it to find out. This is a very good start of the series with lots of promises and I enjoyed the story and listening to the audio was also good. Looking forward to the next one.

What is truly the law?
I liked the 2 main characters and their quest to do what’s best, in the process creating a really important and interesting theme- what is the “real” law? That included the question: Is one life more important than another? The dragon is saved for the very end which makes me think the next book of the series will be more exciting
As for this book, while I enjoyed it, the tone and pace was monotonous and a bit slow. Maybe this is one I would have enjoyed more on my kindle instead of audible 🤷🏻♀️. All in all it was a good listen but not good enough (or bad enough for that matter 😆) for me to call my mom and tell her all about it.
