Summary
Parents everywhere, hear this: You can calm down, take a breath, stop worrying, and do more for your kids by doing less. They will survive, thrive, and later thank you for giving them freedom. And you’ll enjoy raising them in a happier, more peaceful home.
In Take Back the House, Dr. Karen Latimer, a family physician and mother of five, offers some down-home parenting advice for those ready to parent with more confidence and more joy. Finally a no nonsense parenting book
I loved this. I have started too many parenting books that were so light and fluffy and basically tells you to let the kids do whatever they want. This one was something completely different and actually makes sense! You can tell the author has children and is writing from experience

Wowzers! A must for any parent!
This is the most down-to-earth, real and heartfelt parenting book I have listened too and trust me I am an addict. We are adoptive parents and can take so much from this. Karen’s attitude and outlook on the world has confirmed so much to us.
I might even listen again!

Thought provoking
I really enjoyed listening to this book.
It gave me such an a massive realisation of what I do as a parent and how that could be detrimental to our family life. So of it I already do but there are so many points where we could do better.
Karen's voice is also very calming, very pleasant to listen to.

Great insights and reminders
To be honest with you I picked this title because I was hoping it would help me manage my literal house ( which causes me much more stress than parenting my single child. ) but even as I quickly picked up on the house being a metaphor for family life I decided to listen through all the way.
I'm glad I did.
Still need to find an actual house management book now, but I very much enjoyed listening to Karen's reassuring voice and I am grateful for the advice she's given.
