A dramatic story

Due to the themes covered this is a very difficult listen, and there were several points where I had my hand over my mouth in shock. it is hard to review this without giving anything away but it is very twisty and wow that ending!

I did get a bit confused at first who was who and struggled to remember by character name. although the narration was good, it also didn't help with remembering who was who because the narrator's put on different voices for the same characters (hard to explain).

overall though it is very dramatic and a good thriller.

Brave, thought provoking and very real world

A really challenging story that addresses some sensitive issues without sensationalism. The ending is very unexpected but the journey is what makes this book so memorable not the ending (good though the final chapter is). Superb!

Intriguing, engaging and new

I enjoyed this well told tale and its interesting twists and turns. It challenges your views and perceptions on many fronts - well mine anyhow, and it is entertaining , unexpected and a worthwhile read I shall look out for more from the author.

Shocking!

I don’t often write reviews, I don’t often listen to audiobooks that shock me. This book, expertly narrated, was full of surprises, shocks even. I applaud the author for her bravery in a no holds barred telling of taboo subjects both in the description of her heroine and of the nasty attack on which the story is centred.
A gripping listen, thank you.

Brilliant read

I listened to this book in 2 days. I could not put it done. Until the very end, it keeps you gripped, not letting you know which way it will go. I highly recommend this book.

Brilliant

One of the best audio books I have listened to. Moving, well narrated, intense, emotional, complex, very good ending. Can’t really fault it.

Something different and absolutely gripping.

This book had me gripped from start to finish. It’s so well written; the conflicts and difficulties of being disabled are paired against the conflicts and difficulties of being a Muslim in London. The author hasn’t shied away from contentious events and topics and the listener is left changing his/her mind over and over again. I did work it out but not until near the end. I’ll definitely be listening to more from this author. Definitely recommend.
