Summary
It’s your body.... It’s your mind.... It’s your choice....
If you’re reading this right now, you’re questioning how much you drink. Maybe you know you drink way too much, and you want to quit. Or maybe you’re just curious. You’re questioning whether you might be overdoing it a bit. No matter where you are on the drinking spectrum, you’re not alone. I’ve been there. And thousands of people inside the This Naked Mind community have been there, too.
You’re probably wondering why in the world you keep drinking, even though you’ve made a conscious decision to cut back or quit altogether. Are you sick of waking up with a hangover, having to piece together conversations and wondering if you said or did anything embarrassing? Are you even really enjoying yourself anymore?
If you’ve tried to give up or moderate your alcohol consumption in the past and failed, you need to know it’s not your fault. There’s something going on that you’re probably not aware of. And once you understand it, your eyes will be opened, and you’ll be able to undergo this experiment in a meaningful way. It won’t be just another failed attempt at willpower.
Are you ready to get in on the secret?
Let’s go!

Highly insightful
Really interesting to listen to this book. A mix of practical and theoretical approaches mixed with real life reviews. Definitely changed the way I think about alcohol

A brilliant way to rewire your brain on alcohol
This book gives a step by step guide to untangling the anxieties and beliefs around alcohol that keep us trapped in a love-hate relationship with it.
I’ve never heard it explained like this before and it has been a really enjoyable adventure taking part in the 30 day alcohol experiment.

Seven Months
I got this book at the start of dry January, and it’s now nearly August. I haven’t drunk alcohol since December 30, and I attribute some of that fact to this book, so I would recommend it if you’re looking for support in getting sober.
A note of caution, though. I did what I usually do with an audiobook, which is to say I popped in headphones and went out with the dog. The book is arranged in chapters to be listened to day by day, and I frankly wasn’t in the mental space to hear about some of the physiological effects (none good) of alcohol early in the month.

Definitely more conscious
You are wonderful to listen to and I am taking a longer term view on drinking less . Alcohol is my enemy and maybe I’ll stop one day but it’s been a tough battle to admit that and it’s really stuck in my head.

Fab techniques how to avoid “one drink” scenarios
Great explanation on how damaging alcohol is to our bodies. I thought I knew it all but after listening to this book I think it put me off drinking for life. Great listen if you need that courage to get healthy and more productive.

Life changing!!
Just what I what I was looking for, an adult sensible approach to reducing or stopping drinking! 10 out of 10 would highly recommend. Lots of these books/audios pretend they will help you cut down only to read it and it tries to guilt you into their way of thinking!! Off to listen to her first book now as think that will give me a big picture view over other things and how to take control of your life, not just your drinking.

Very helpful in my quest to quit drinking
Really enjoyed the neuroscience information as well the exercises. Each time I think about wanting a drink, my mind immediately thinks about how it effects my mind and body, which stops the ‘wanting a drink’ thoughts in their tracks.
It’s been 30 days, now I feel I can really stop my subconscious mind taking control of the situation.
Thanks Annie, you really are making a difference in people’s lives.

First ever successful dry January
The book really helped me to understand alcohol and my often tedious relationship with it. After a month I feel clearer, happier, healthier and I am managing daily stresses better. I am going to try another month to see where that leads me...
