A YA Fantasy Romance In An Immersive World With Fae, Dragons, and a Handsome King

Charassi stands on the brink, as an ancient evil breaks free of its prison…

A new dragon hatchling should be a cause for celebration. But the birth of Starstriker has put all of Charassi at risk. Kaliban, a force of pure evil, has a mysterious tie to the young dragon—and is drawing strength from her to carry out his deadly schemes.

If Kaliban can free himself from the Heart of the Realms, he’ll crush the Fae, and anyone else in his path of destruction. Queen Ophelia and King Corrin must risk everything to keep their realm safe, even Ophelia’s human family back on Earth who turns out to have a crucial role to play in the fight against Kaliban. To protect her people, Ophelia embarks on a desperate journey, seeking a power that can equal what Kaliban wields.

Only ancient magic can fight an ancient evil. But to harness the power, Ophelia must become the leader everyone needs her to be. Before it’s too late…

Sixth book featuring fae royalty and dragons.

If you start here with the saga of Texan teenager Ophelia, her dragon called Sunny and her relationship with the high prince of the realm she comes to rule, then you are missing out on a rich backstory and the essential plots of previous books will be spoiled. Which character's point of view is given at the start of each chapter. Our heroine and her fiance face challenges in the realm and outside it. The main opponent is a super-dragon with malign influence who is draining power and life from the baby dragon whose hatching released him from the prison conjured by the ancestral forces. The origin of this peril is the story from the previous book. The solutions to the mounting challenges this powerful foe presents are inventive and exercised with compassion. I have deducted a star because the identity of who would save the baby dragon by bonding with her was too obvious almost immediately and because the romance signalled throughout had another predicatable ending. Action scenes were well written and the characters developed to be more rounded and complex whilst maintaining integrity. I would be happy to spend more time in the company of this cast.

The narrator does a better job of distinguishing who is speaking and made a fair attempt at voicing characters as wrtten or described. I found it easier to tell narration apart from dialogue.

Great conclusion to this series!

A HEA ending (in my opinion) to this story. This book is filled with twist and turns...and outside the box thinking. I have sincerely enjoyed this series. And have found the narration to be pleasant to listen too, without causing any distractions. Definitely keep coming back to this author!.

Captivating, drew me into the story and didn't let

I liked how the author was able to captivate the story, find solutions and keep facing new challenges. I liked how Ophelia believed in the good in everyone and never gave up. I liked how Corrin always grounds the ideas and brings reality to the forefront. I see the value of collaboration and the power that is greater than the sum of the parts.
For anyone who loves dragons, fairies, elves and all the fantastic creatures, this is a must read! You will never regret it!
The narrator is really good and lets you share in the magic that the book creates with her great presentation.
