About this listen
A few bad choices can ruin someone’s life, but what if the choices weren’t yours to make?
In the blink of an eye, life can change for the better or the worst. Future ER surgeon and grief-stricken Caidence Tucker learned that the hard way. Caidence has her life on track, but after a night out with her best friend, she is forced on the run with the protective boxer Noah Park. Dragging someone else into her battle is the last thing she wants to do, but with no knowledge of who is after her or why, Caidence is forced to rely on Noah’s unique skills and killer instincts.
Caidence is in danger because of someone else’s choices, but it will be her own that decide her fate.

It may be on my top ten book list.
The characters were so strong and dedicated to each other. The struggle was not something that came from nowhere, but a main character’s family. The perspective was relatable, fragile, and comical at times. I can’t find anything wrong with the book.

I would read another of these books.
This entire book is about a girl running from some men who hold a grudge against her dead sister. Then, a guy who is a perfect stranger to her risks his neck to keep her safe because of something he witnessed years ago. The idea of the book seems backward and far from interesting. But this story was written well and in a way that held my interest throughout.

This has all the action I need.
I can’t complain about anything in this book. From start to finish it took me on a ride of a lifetime. From being kidnapped to almost kidnapped and on the run with a sexy near stranger, this book has all the action needed. I cannot imagine it needing anything else other than more pages and a sequel.

it's not so good.
I spent money on this book expecting at least a few hours of entertainment. Had I bought the kindle version; it would have been excellent. But the narration was boring and snobbish. The voice rubbed me the wrong way. When it was over, I was disappointed. If I buy the next in the series, it will be a read version. I cannot tolerate more of this narrator’s voice.

There was a lot of information given.
There is so much detail in this book—maybe even a bit too much. Personally, I am a fan of a dialog driven novel, but there was a lot of subtext. Yes, it is important to have descriptions and additional information. I want to hear the character’s speaking to characterize them, but there isn’t nearly enough of that. There was a lot of information given, which was good.

Check out this riveting romance book.
I didn’t realize how short this book was until it ended, but even then, I can’t say I was disappointed. It pulls in so many dangers and obstacles on each page that kept the book moving. I lost track of time and was so absorbed by the book that it felt like I finished it in a matter of minutes. Caidence and her internal struggle makes the book even better and more relatable.

It’s all I want in a book.
If it weren’t so short, I would love to give this 5 stars. I found that from page one, I was able to relate with Caidence and swoon over Noah. The perspective was effective in placing me in the middle of the story and not seclude me to an outside perspective. When Caidence went through something tragic, I felt it with her. When Noah saved the day, I felt like I was being saved.

Heart-pounding series.
Who wouldn’t love the story of a damsel in distress and a gallant warrior coming to save her!? Caidence fell into a dangerous world she didn’t know existed because of a promise made by her long dead sister. And only Noah has the power and connections to keep her safe. This exhilarating story had my heart pounding from page 1 and I wouldn’t give it up for the world.
