Very sweet!
I decided to review this audiobook because I usually love books written by ML Hamilton and performed by Kelley Hazen. Honestly, I was curious to see what these two talented artists would do with a children's book. The result is engaging, light and humourous.
This audiobook is definitely for a younger audience, but it is still delightful. I think a child reading along with this audiobook would have a positive experience. Additionally, I can imagine a family listening to this together without getting bored. It is written from the perspective of a child so children would relate to it, while adults would probably feel amused by some of the insights into a child's mind.
The story is simple. It is the start of Rue and Kasey's summer holiday adventures. Rue has just been gifted Kasey. Of course, that involves a lot of responsibilities and a lot of antics as the puppy and her human learn all about each other. Throw in a family holiday by the beach, and the fun continues!
I would recommend this book to parents who want to inspire their children to read. This book is light and funny!
