Summary

The bloody-minded Montresor leads the pompous Fortunato deep into the catacombs, seeking the famed Amontillado wine. Here we have one of Poe’s most terrifying, and most “beloved” tales. Revenge and pomposity commingle beneath the river’s bed, leading to a delightfully sinister conclusion.

Performatively great, technically awful.

Great wee story told well by B.J. Harrison. The main issue with this recording is the poor audio quality. This has the worst audio peaking I've heard on any Audible product so far, particularly when the narrative calls for louder voices, and was obviously recorded on a low quality microphone. Still a good listen for 60p though, even with the shocking audio quality in places.
