Very enjoyable book
Kept me entertained with all the twists and turns of the story. Also enjoyed guessing about the relationships of the family.

Hooked!
I really enjoyed this book and couldn't stop listening. It was such a change from the usual so call psychological thrillers, more of an intriguing mystery. The story was mostly well narrated, but some of the voices, specially those of the male characters, were very annoying and it made them sound silly. But the story made me keep listening despite this.
As soon as I finished listening I signed up for another of Ruth Wares books, so it must have been good!

Good story, slightly ham narration
Really enjoyed the story; nicely paced build up, good atmosphere and engaging characters. My only complaint was the narration, at times the tension was spoilt by an overly dramatic delivery that was reminiscent of my reading famous five to my children - ok if you are trying to thrill younger readers but it sounded slightly patronising in this context and actually reduced the narrative tension for me at key points. The narrator was fine when she wasn’t trying to over egg the dialogue.

The Death of Mrs Westaway
A suspenseful, gothic psychological thriller, The Death of Mrs Westaway, has an intriguing premise: a young fortune teller, experiencing hard times, has the opportunity to scam an inheritance. Of course, the story soon twists into something darker and past secrets are revealed.
It’s beautifully written, and it’s hard not to like the main character, Hal, even if when we first meet her she is planning to scam people. The story has a gothic atmosphere, helped by its Cornish country home setting.
The narrative is mainly linear, despite describing some important events that occur in the past. It’s a well-crafted story, with plenty of clever little details that bring the whole thing to life. Another fabulous book by Ruth Ware, expertly narrated by Imogen Church.

Had me gripped from the start
Loved everything about this book. The story, the suspense and the narration. Very clever story and first novel I have read of this Author. Can’t wait to try another from Ruth Ware
