Summary
It is late in 1903 and Corporal John Caldwell has just returned from his time away resolving a murder that took place in the Alaskan Territory. Just after he arrives back in Dawson City, he witnesses a murder where he becomes a witness. After the trial there is request for a detective and he travels to Calgary in the Alberta District. He assists to resolve several serious cases when he is placed underground to deal with a gambling operator and illegal liquor. When the operator is killed John tracks down the gang to a farm. His uncle’s disappearance takes him to Central and South America to find his uncle which in turn involves him in looking for gold and emeralds from one of the Spanish treasure ships.
