When Morrison was shockingly diagnosed with HIV in 1996, his life imploded, and his subsequent descent into drugs, prison, bigamy, and conspiracy theories made Morrison notorious long after his glory days had ended.
In The Duke, Carlos Acevedo chronicles Morrison's tumultuous life from his days as a teenaged Toughman contestant, to his victory over George Foreman, to his struggles with HIV and depression, to his death at forty-four, when his delusions finally overtook him.

great story, but....
I knew some of the Tommy Morrison story, but this book filled in the gaps and gave me a lot of info that I didn't know about. the narrator did a great job and if you have any interest in Morrison or boxing, then this is well worth a read/listen.
One thing puzzles me though......why did the author take on this subject?? he clearly doesn't like Morrison, belittles his achievements at every opportunity ,and will not give him credit for anything at all! he also belittles other great heavyweights for some reason. was he forced to write this book!!?
anyway, the author's obvious hatred for Morrison aside, it's still very good.

Biased drivell
If there was ever a character assignation this is it!!! I can't tell if the writer has a grudge against Morrison or is just a bitter person.
