An empowering gift indeed

How refreshing it is to hear four real women remind us that the greatness they celebrate is also within each of us.

This book reminds us of our own magnificence and the joy therein. The speakers are varied in professional and personal expertise but harmonise with the female / human threads of acknowledging fear, courage, self honour, gratitude and balance to name but a few qualities. Each speaker brings her own unique and valuable take to the topic of empowering women. There is no scope for clich?s, sweeping statements or gimmicks. These ladies are living with the types of challenges that many of us do and still see the joie de vivre; as we all should. As the title states, this book is a gift; it is also an inspiration.

I put stuff like this in my own personal tool box, the place I keep all sorts of inspiring material to keep me in kilter and moving in the right direction. That tribal stuff can be a challenge to us all so my tool box is invaluable.

Hats off to Louise L. Hay and her fellow presenters. Gone are the days of accepting the tribal and predetermined ?norms? and hello to the unfolding real you in all of us.

Ladies, if you get to see this review, I invite you to Scotland to share your light with my fellow Scots and UK neighbours and see our beautiful land. I also graciously extend an invite to the beloved Dr Wayne Dyer, who although not participating in this book, does outstanding work and is also published by Hay House.

With gratitude and appreciation.

Teri Darling.

Powerhouse women

An old recording (1997) but as relevant today as ever. Some incredible pearls of wisdom, funny and insightful.

Very uplifting

This book may seem a little dated now - it was recorded during the 1980s, I believe - as women's place in the world, and the workplace has greatly changed in the past decade or two. Nevertheless, for those of us born in times of 'a woman's place is in the home' this audio book shows clearly how we were manipulated (by our menfolk, the church, and schools) into believing that there were very few choices for us, and that we would probably fail if we tried anything different. It's very interesting, though, to see how the present situation has evolved, and very useful to women of a certain age who still have self - limiting beliefs and thoughts. Louise Hay has been a favourite of mine for decades, and has helped me through some difficult times. Her manner of speech is gentle, encouraging and gently amusing. Susan Jeffers is rather more brash in manner, but amusing, and makes some very interesting points. Susan Jeffers pinpoints how thought processes affect the body (she's a medical doctor), which is useful to know. The 4th lady (who isn't credited) is actually a more spiritual person, not to everyone's taste perhaps, but she has some valid points to make if you can overlook some of her more unusual views. I would certainly recommend this book, if nothing else it's very encouraging and positive.
PS for those younger ladies who have been caught up in the 1950s hype that's gripped the UK lately, you might learn a lot about how life REALLY was for those stay at home mums, and the attitudes of their husbands.
