Four, are they really myths?

I found this to be a very clever interweaving of stories (myths) into what became a possibly coherent whole. The book is also possible to understand on several levels and an early clue to this is the importance of numbers and dates. However, some suspension of disbelief then needed by those who do not use the USA convention of date recording. There are four types of myth, four horsemen of the apocalypse and four scrolls which are central to the tales.
The text jumps back and forth in time and you need to concentrate to keep up. The story arcs then converge and the reader makes several discoveries. There is a very dramatic sequence before the end, but how one character can cause/observe/record as well as being present (virtually or otherwise) throughout is not explained. In a final twist, the reader becomes complicit in the tale and part of the story. Quite a long listen, but I found it ultimately satisfying.
The narrator does an excellent job of distinguishing the different characters and conveying their emotions. I thought the gargling speech of one character was very well done.

Convoluted.

I struggled to stay with it. it kept jumping from time period/people/places. I like vooks i can bookmark to come back to favourite scenes. I had no bookmarks.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
