Absolutely brilliant

Another fantastic story from Ken Follett you feel as if you are right in the middle of the story and it has you on the edge of your seat throughout

Excellent as usual!

My first audible book. Ken is a favourite author of mine, so I hoped that the weirdness of having a book read to me would be smoothed by this; and thankfully it was, I enjoyed both the story and the narration.

A Thrilling and Worrying Possibility?

Making earthquakes as a Forceful and Terrifying Weapon is made to seem all too possible, and the reaction of The Establishment ("do nothing, and the threat will go away") is all too probable to leave the listening observer confronting this crescendo of events unmoved.

Intrigue and conflict on so many levels.

The amount of investigation and detail that went into all the subjects raised in this book was amazing.

Not like any other Follet book

I had to check that it was the same author, twice, so unlike any of his other stuff.
It was okay. The central idea quite clever, but nothing like as good as his historical books

Entertaining but flawed

I’m a great fan of Ken Follette, having read all of his novels. The writing and characters are great but the central premise of the earthquakes on demand machine is so improbable it undermines the credibility. Having said that I did listen to it till the end as the performance is absolutely brilliant and the strength of the writing is just so good. 7/10

Not his best

I think I enjoyed this less than I might have because of the narration. However, it isn’t one of Ken Follett’s best.

Somewhat disappointing read and predictive plot .

Not the best storyline and narration could be improved. Previous novels always exceeded expectations. Characters not believable.
