Summary

Abby’s senior year of high school is going according to plan: good friends, cute boyfriend, and college applications in the mail. But when Dante Alexander, foreign-exchange student from Italy, steps into her life, he turns it upside down. He’s mysterious, and interesting, and unlike anyone she’s ever met before. Abby can’t deny the growing attraction she feels for him. Nor can she deny the unusual things that seem to happen when Dante is around.

Soon Abby finds herself drawn into a mystery whose roots reach into sixteenth-century Florence, and she uncovers a dangerous truth that threatens not only her future but the lives of those she loves. This award-winning YA love story is the first in a trilogy.

The narrator ruined my enjoyment of this book.

The story is fairly good, if a little immature at times, however the worse part of this book was the woman who read it. I can not believe someone was paid to do a performance of reading this book, considering there was no performance. The narrator read the whole book in one voice/tone never distinguishing between characters so at times made the story hard to follow as you became unsure of who was saying what, as there was no change in voice/tone when reading different character parts. Because of this i did not enjoy the book as much as maybe i would have if it had been read by a narrator who brought the book to life. I would listen to the second book for the continuation of the story, however if it was read by the same narrator this would put me off purchasing the next book.

A welcome surprise!

This was a wonderfull introduction in spacetime, extra dimentions, anthropocentric principle, art and love, in fundamental questions of philosophy about human existence. I would preferred it if the characters were older. Fortunately they are not annoying as most of literature characters of their age are. I feel lucky that I discover this now that all three books are out. I am rushing to next full of excitement.

bad narrator

Average story and with bad narration. this is why authors shouldn't narrate their own book.
