About this listen
Still reeling from the death of one colleague and a near miss for another, DI Zoe Finch could have done with a quiet winter.
But when a body is pulled from the ice at a rural beauty spot, Zoe and her team find themselves back in the thick of murder and intrigue. Who is the dead man? Why was he there? And is there a connection with a web of blackmail and corruption that spreads across the county?
Someone knows more than they’re letting on, and their silence could cost more lives. But talking can be just as deadly.
The Lake is the fifth book in the gripping Cumbria Crime series, featuring DI Zoe Finch from the bestselling ‘Deadly' series.

Dreadful narration
I have read all the books in this series and enjoyed them. Due to an eye problem I decided to buy the audible book this time Although it was ok I found the narration extremely irritating. The sing song voice and terrible attempt at accents really didn’t do justice to the story. Please get a better narrator.

Difficult to follow at times
I thought there were far too many characters and too many references to past stories. I’d read previous books but quite a while ago so found it difficult to follow sometimes. Narration on the whole was quite good although one character in particular spoke far too quickly and gave me a headache. Not the best story.

Enjoyable.
I enjoyed this book although my attention was wandering at times as it did not grip me like some of Rachels other books. Jan Kramers narration as always was excellent. Recommended.
