Great story but sort out the recording

This is one of my fave stories of the series - the thought of being alone in space for decades is too intense to get my head around.
But what is up with the sound recording - sounds like it’s being read in a toilet in a space shuttle. Maybe that was the plan? If so, it doesn’t work. Please fix.
