Narrator
A big fan of M J Porter, I have many of his titles. The story line in this book is good , the characters are also good , I like the story line BUT had to turn off after 3 chapters. The narrator NIGEL GORE is probably THE WORST I HAVE HEARD ON AUDIBLE, HE IS FLAT , MONOTONE , bring nothing to the characters and is plain tedious. I was looking forward to this series BUT until the narrator is changed I'll not be getting anymore titles in this series.

Battles from start to finish
If you like good battle scenes, this is book is perfect. Action from start to finish. Enjoyed the book.

I really enjoyed the story overall and will definitely seek out the rest of the series even if I did get a little tired of hearing the word “seax” and hope in future books it can be used with less frequency.
The narration was great and paced really well. My only critique would be that it felt a little ‘Southend’ at times, there wasn’t a massive distinction between character voices and battle intensity wasn’t really told differently to the rest of the story.
Even with its very minor criticisms, it’s still a great story and I enjoyed it.
