A fabulously funny romance to relish!
One problem I faced which might not be an issue for you is that I listen to audiobooks while walking from place to place. I bet you don't get what I am on about. This book had me laughing. Out loud. Without warning. (I am pretty sure fellow pedestrians thought I was off my rocker.)
You cannot help but love Megan. She literally personifies the insecurities most women face in some form. She is a glasses-wearing, shy, insecure, slightly clumsy, highly intelligent, painfully honest, socially awkward introvert. Through no desire or effort of her own she finds herself a contestant on a Survivor like TV show, the Leftover. She does not have the skills to deal with most of the physical tests but she more than makes up for it with the mental stamina to strategically work through the challenges. The remaining contestants are very interesting and she quickly forms her own posse with three others as they fight to reach the end line.
And Cane.... ooo lala! He is the sensitive, hot, seemingly confident but actually not, paramedic on the show. He comes with medical knowledge and experiential wisdom of being on a TV show himself as well as a little baggage in the romance department. His past promises to present an obstacle.
There is an instant connect of the unusual kind between the two protagonists. Considering the book only features a few kisses, the reader can still feel the palpable chemistry igniting between the two as the plot thickens. The humour, action, conversation and description takes care of the rest.
I hadn't ever read Brooke Williams books before but I am already looking forward to the next. This was pure entertainment and romantic comedy escapism!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Review
This is a great story , I have watched a few of these competitions on tv and that helped to bring my imagination to life. It added to my enjoyment of the story. There was so much that was good and kind in the interaction between most of the competitors. There are always some that are mean and will do anything to win. The presenters rely on that to make a popular show. I think the author did well and described exactly the scene on one of these shows. Love often does develop due to close proximity and length of time together.
The presenter did a very good job reading the story and really enhanced my enjoyment. I spent a very pleasant day with this book it is really good.
