About this listen

The Lion. Son of the Emperor, brother of demigods and Primarch of the Dark Angels. Awakened. Returned. And yet...lost.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Witness the Emperor’s First Son make his dramatic return to the 41st Millennium! Much has changed since he last walked among the stars, but not Lion El’Jonson’s drive to protect humanity from the threats that assail it from all sides.

THE STORY

After ten thousand years of dreaming, locked in stasis at the heart of his shattered home world, Lion El'Jonson wakes to the nightmare of Imperium Nihilus.

In this midnight age, the dying embers of humanity are threatened on all sides by the hungry darkness. Alone, even the Lion has no hope of prevailing against such evil – but there are those who would aid him in his quest. Hunted to the edge of endurance, many among his Fallen knights have long-awaited the day their liege would return to redeem them. The Lord of Shadowed Paths must gather these lost loyalists to his side once more, and stride forth to vanquish a traitorous son and the twisted Chaos warband that calls him master.

Faced with these strange times, the Lion can be certain of nothing and no one, except for himself. But in a galaxy without the Emperor, without the Imperium, without his Legion, and without Caliban…who is he?

Fantastic book

The narrator made this book so much fun. Made me visualise each scene as if I was there with the Lion. You can feel the passion that both the creator and the narrator put into this. Enjoyed it so much more than I thought.

Truly superb

Could hardly stop listening. Great performance with strong story telling. What's next? Can't wait to find out what happens when the Lion meets papa smurf.

The Lord of the First!

For me the best DA book for a long while, loved it! I can't wait for more! Especially for the lion to link up with the current DA chapter, rowboat girlyman, and especially the Lord Cypher!

Excellent narration, somewhat tedious writing

The story is fine; I can stand the constant extolling of the First Legion's virtues as it's told from the vantage of their primarch and one of his sons.

I cannot abide an author who reuses the same phrase over and over though, and the presentation of the Lions arms is a bit...vague. There's a lot of whys.

I'm also a tad bitter. Why have my two least favourite loyalist primarchs come back first?

A book worthy of praise

This book was just great, the narration was exactly what it needed and the story is told in such a way that I grew attached to the characters within. One for fans of Warhammer 40000, obsessive Dark Angels will find a lot to interest them.
