Summary

Life has a way of finding you when you least expect it....

Change and taking risks have never worked out too well for Jess. After losing her beloved grandmother, Jess finds herself suddenly unemployed when the local library closes down, and for the first time in her life, Jess is at a crossroads. Either she stays in the 'nowheresville' town of her upbringing, or could it finally be a chance for her to find her own fresh start?

Putting her grandmother's house on the market and packing up the 10 boxes of books left to her, Jess follows her gut and moves into a remote cottage in the tiny and beautiful village, Middlemas. But snap decisions come with a risk, and when she finds herself the owner of not just a rundown home desperately in need of renovations, but a disused red phone box too. It's not long before the librarian within her can't resist turning it into a lending library, because even if she can't bear to open the books, doesn't mean others can't....

What Jess doesn't know is that each book has been carefully selected to help Jess navigate life's big and small challenges. But can the books find the right home the community around her to help them mend their ways, rediscover old friendships, forging new ones and come together once more? And has Jess finally found her very own place to call home?

easy listening and didn't require much imagination

it was what I expected, easy kind of book to listen to while painting. predictable but gentle.... just easy and " nice".

More about divorce than library

This became tedious , the heroine of the story was weak and annoying, the hero was obsessed with divorce, and they didn't talk enough about the library which is why everyone would pick the book. Disappointing
