Summary
Four full-length novels for one low price
Aran awakens in chains with no memory. He’s conscripted into the Confederate Marines as a Tech Mage, given a spellrifle then hurled into the war with the draconic Krox and their Void Wyrm masters.
Desperate to escape, Aran struggles to master his abilities while surviving the Krox onslaught. Fighting alongside him are a Major who will do anything to win, a Captain who will stop at nothing to see him dead, and a woman whose past is as blank as his own.
Caught between survival and loyalty, Aran must choose. If he flees he will live, but the Krox will burn the galaxy. Stopping them requires a price Aran may be unable to pay: learning to trust the very people who enslaved him.

highly recommended
A great mix of sci-fi and magic, which is easy to listen to.
only small criticism is that some of the smaller characters get a little bit repetitive, aside from that it's a solid listen.

It's a Quintology ! at least
Enjoyable adventure in a swords and sorcery in space, with dragons :)
Players of RPGs like D&D are going to enjoy the atmosphere, i could almost here dice during some of the combat.
Good mix of characters and motivations although some seem too forced. a lot of enemy within which i personally am not a fan of.
All in all a good set of books.

it's like reading a computer game.not in a bad way
it has other stuff, but mainly the potential to be a really good third person computer game.

Reasonable enough
A decent enough story but this set is essentially chapter 1 of a larger series. Not convinced I'll rush out to continue it though as the story did drag on a bit and the seemingly indestructible core cast never seemed to be in any real peril.
Narration was OK, so many characters sounded the same that it wasn't always easy to distinguish between them.
Not that I could do any better but the repeated use of the some phrases began to grate on me a bit. Somebody always seemed to be releasing a breath the hadn't know they were holding!

Dreadful
God I’ve struggled with this load of garbage. Loved the Werewolves books but this is just poor in comparison. I started to wonder if I’d missed the first book as there appears to be a whole world and terminology that I should know and understand.
