My long awaited return to audiobooks

I am enjoying this audiobook very much. The story is quite unexpected and continues the keep me interested as it develops. The narration is fantastic! Harry Frost has a charming voice to listen to and a strong grip on the characters voices and personalities he is conveying to the listener. Great listen all round!

Great find!

Great story, mixing Greek myth, supernatural abilities and modern police drama. the car chase and associated fights were nail biting. Took me a short while to get into the story as I needed to adjust to the narration - story based in Italy, English narrator, with one of the Italian characters being given a northern English accent! That's by the bye though as once I got more involved it became completely irrelevant. Can't wait for the next book. Nose to grindstone/keyboard please, Dylan!

Great premise, Very Good execution

I read and listen to a lot of books and have a very eclectic taste from, Stephen King to Jeffery Archer and everyone in between. The main genres I listen to are Science fiction and Fantasy novels. To give you an idea of some of my current tastes, Some of my favourite books I have read over the last year are the rebel stars series, Rainwilld Chronicles and Mountain men as a few highlights.

So to start with i would of given 3.5 stars but felt was better than just good.

The premise of the story is fantastic, Gods, ancients and a load of things in between based in the modern world. I really liked how the author managed to keep the characters authentic to both their mythology but the realities of modern day life incorporating many different aspects into a well woven tale.

The story sucked me in from the first scene and I managed to listen to the whole story within a few days.

I am not a big one for spoilers so I wont go into details I just felt that the pace of the book changed over the last 1/4 and I felt that it was rushed along faster than I would of liked this may of not been as big a factor for me if I hadn't felt absorbed within the story and the world that the author had created. The book ultimately ended in a pleasing way and I would definitely recommend it.

The narrator was new to me but the pronunciation, Tone and Cadence was spot on.

Gods and Demigods in modern Rome = chaos

Set in Modern Day Rome yet could be back in ancient times as gods, demigods and 'The Man battle it out with simple humans getting in the as always.

I loved this novel just as I loved reading the Greek and Roman stories of their gods _ I won't call them myths as who knows maybe those past tales all a garbled oral history.

I admit took me a couple of chapters to really fall into the story but once I did I was hooked and stayed hooked to the end and I want to go along on the quest I hope its chronicled. The book is a complete account and the quest which I speak is a totally different tale so don't worry.

Should you read it - yes, will you love it, well unless your a purest who believe immortal beings have vanished (died, sleeping, vanished a puff of smoke) I cannot see why you wouldn't....nothing to lose as Audible will give you credit back if you don't like it.

Can I give you any titbits, no not without spoilers sorry.

Harry Frost has the perfect voice for all characters of all sexes.

I was lucky enough to be given this book for free in the hope I write a review. I write only truthful reviews so if I say I enjoyed it I did and happy to put my credit where my mouth is and buy the next in the series if it ever is written and appears on Audible.

Interesting concept but falls a bit flat

I loved the idea of this book and the mixing of human characters and people from Roman (well Greek really )myths was well done to start with but in the end just became a shoot-em-up. I also refuse to believe anyone doesn’t know what happens when you plant dragon teeth. Did Ray Harryhausen teach us nothing?
