Summary

Evie Dunn, a young, teenage girl, finds her normal life disrupted by the presence of a giant spider on her window. When it comes out that the spider isn't just an abnormal size but has, in fact, evolved at a heightened rate alongside all of the other insects in the area, panic spreads.

It's unclear as to whether or not these insects have grown to be vicious toward humans for the sake of being able to feed themselves, though when Evie and her mother, Maria Dunn, are awoken in the night to find the giant spider lurking within their house, and once Maria has been chased by the arachnid, it grows clear that the city is no longer a safe place to be.
