Gripping

An exciting, at times almost heart-stopping, thriller. Well written, credible characters and a more or less believable plot. Perfect for gardening or a long car drive. Not for bedtime!

Nightmare thriller

Sean Barrett elevated the story beyond the level of the Hypnotist, the first in the series and to my mind defines Joona Lina the lead detective. It pains me to say that occasionally the reading by Saul Reichlin makes me think this detective sounds like Laura Bakker (from the Hewson books) and I don't see the expected Finnish accent .
Good engaging story, enjoy.

Two distinct halves to this excellent book.

The first half of this book is high drama and just when you think things are nearing a conclusion the plot opens wide to weave together a wealth of subplots which were quietly brewing beneath the main action. The author brings it all together brilliantly and Sean Barrett could turn the Shipping news into a best seller.
