Summary

Hettie Bagshot has bitten off more than any cat could chew. As soon as she launches her No. 2 Feline Detective Agency, she's bucketed into a case: Furcross, a home for slightly older cats, has a nasty spate of bodysnatching, and three of the residents have been stolen from their graves.

Hettie and her sidekick, Tilly, set out to reveal the terrible truth. In a haze of catnip and pastry, Hettie steers the Furcross Case to its conclusion, but will she get there before the body count rises - and the pies sell out?

Nice enough

All kinds of cats, shop keepers, plumbers, chef, bakers etc but apparently no police cats to investigate murders/suspicious deaths.
Odd story but didn't mind as it was free in the plus catalogue.

Great

I was just adding random things to my library, not reading the reviews or descriptions.
So I hadn’t realised it was actual cats, silly I know.
Please do not tell my dogs that I’ve listened to this, and am going to listen to the rest.
The narrator is one of the best I’ve heard on here.

a pun filled easy listen

mostly this is a 'cosy mystery' with lots of puns and cat referances. it's quit enjoyable and whilst I wouldn't listwn again i might try the next one at some point.
some of the characterisations of none British cats come off as rather steriotyped, I'm not sure if that the writing or performance or mearly me being over sensative.
the ending was about 3 twists in the tail too long and if I'd been reading rather than listening while doing something else I'm not sure I would have had the patience.

Surprised at how good this is

Downloaded this book as something in the background to doze off and tatt about to. Unfortunately got sucked in. Really engaging and fun storyline, with nice humorous gems. Now downloaded the rest of the series.

The Best Series on Audible

I cannot speak highly enough of these books. They are just pure joy to listen to. Jenny Funnel is an excellent narrator. The characters, plots and names are just brilliant. Can't wait for the next! I love Hettie & Tilly!

A fun surprise of a listen

I gave this series a go, as it was included in the Plus Catalogue. It is narrated perfectly and really enjoyed the unusual combination of humour and warmth, alongside some very brutal murders that set in a quirky reality.
Don't let the title and premise fool you, the stories aren't a cutesie gimmick for 'crazy cat ladies' (and gents), although I am sure cat lovers will delight in them. They are easy listening, entertaining and imaginative. A very solid series

A DELIGHTFUL LISTEN

I could listen to Jenny Funnell read the phone book, she is outstanding. This set of books is an absolute FIND!! I absolutely love the utter silliness. The puns and names will make you smile. I wholeheartedly recommend. An absolute JOY!!

If the cats have paws, how do they play guitars?

characters seen disconnected from events happening around them, sometimes not even acknowledging murders or bodies

Not the best book I have listened to, but not the worst either.

It was OK, something different, but not sure if I will bother with the rest of the series. It was well read, but it wasn't quite what I was expecting, I thought it would be a fun detective story, a cat detective in what I thought would be a human world should be quite fun and entertaining, but a cat detective in a cat world is normal detective really if you think about it has if it's a cat world then of course the detectives would be cats. It did have some fun moments & one quite scary moment. If this was a cartoon or TV series I would definitely be wanting to watch it has I love cats, which is why I wanted to try the book, though it's not one of my usual listenings, has at the moment I have been in to myth and magic adventure stories has for some reason I have got in dragon stories and I have always enjoyed a good adventure story, but usually prefer them without a murder. But I also love a good fun story too and thought this was going to be one. But if you love detective stories and cats then you will probably enjoy it. I wasn't quite so taken on, not being the biggest detective story fan and wasn't quite sure what to make of it or picture in my mind with the cats acting very human like.
