Summary

When a physicist is murdered in LA it seems the killer has no fear of publicity, leaving the body on The Mulholland overlook, a site with a stunning view over the city. And when it's discovered that the victim turned over a quantity of a lethal chemical to his killer before he died, Harry knows he has more than just a single death to worry about. Alongside the forces of Homeland Security, Harry realises he must solve the murder or face unimaginable consequences.

Overlook

Story well plotted, fair narrative, performance could have been better compared to other connelly titles.

Another great Bosch story

Great story with a nice twist at the end - love the music touch - it gives the narration a bit of a “Bosch” atmosphere

Another good Bosch adventure

Good story, well read. I'm reading all the stories in order and enjoying how Bosch develops as they go.

Strong story, superb performance

Len Cariou's readings of the Bosch novels are superb. I've bought several just for this. Handles dialogue immaculately, especially humour. Keeps you listening. One of the shorter Bosch's, with a touch of "24" (the whole case is done and dusted in under a day).

A bit short

Good story overall but a bit brief compared to others in this series. Good performance.

Rachel’s voice is wrong

I love all Harry Bosch books. Well written and having read them all I’m now enjoying the audio books.

Another Good Read

Loved the way this was so unpredictable but delivered the quality all the same. A big fun of Michael Connelly!

Too much sax in the violence

Once again the excellent narration is randomly interrupted by discordant musical notes which nearly swamp the story. Perhaps it was felt that this racy tale needed mood Muzak to add depth and colour, but all this rank production managed was a distraction. A good story, well read, which deserved to be listened to rather than endured.
