Summary
Unlike most relationship counselors, Dr. Pransky doesn't recommend "working" on a relationship. In this book, he challenges everything you thought you knew about how to be happy with your partner. Each chapter exposes a popular but destructive misconception about relationships and provides a new understanding that can give troubled couples the fresh start they need.

Great book ruined by the narrator
Narration can make or break an audiobook. Sadly, this book has been ruined by the narrator. 3 stars is a compromise between 2 (what I would have given it because of the narrator) and 5 (what the content deserves).
Given that his surname is the same as that of the author, I think the narrator is probably family. A poor choice, in my opinion. I could have lived with his thick (New York?) accent, but his stop start delivery and bizarre, apparently random choice of word emphasis made the listening experience excruciating at times.
I stuck with it, because the content is fantastic, but this book would be much better narrated by a professional, or read as a dead wood or ebook.

wonderful book - real shame about the presentation
This is a remarkable, life-changing book that has impacted so many people over the last two and half decades, and I was very happy to see it finally make an appearance in audio form on Audible. However the presentation really is way below the standard most regular Audible listeners have come to expect, voiced by a non-professional reader and recorded in what sounds like a bedroom (with occasional background noises) rather than a sound studio. This is a shame as I can't help feel it will put many listeners off what is actually such a gem of a book. It deserves better!

Antiquated psychology
I found this book disturbing. The advice being given is one from a manager stance rather than nurture. E.g. control your emotions rather than find the underlying message and needs so that they can be addressed. For anyone with any kind of unresolved trauma including neglect and abandonment this will resolve nothing. In fact manager rather than nurture as in transactional analysis will make it worse. Which is surprising because there is even a chapter on compassion. The book goes on to suggest creating healthy boundaries is almost coming from dissatisfaction. I couldn’t finish the book aa for me it the advice is too damaging as oppose helpful.
