Editor reviews
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Return of Sherlock Holmes includes 13 Sherlock adventures published at the turn of the 20th century. The first collection after Holmes' alleged death, these tales bring Holmes back, sleuthing with a vengeance. Walter Covell's voice is superbly versatile. He gives each character distinct attributes, from a husky-voiced, mysterious stranger to the deep-voiced British narrator who speaks so smoothly it is easy to enjoy his voice for the full eleven hours. Doyle and Covell work together to make this famous collection a joy for all Sherlock fans.

More like the end of Sherlock Holmes
This was my first selection and I decided on it because unlike some of the other Sherlock Holmes options it seems to cover all the books in the 'Return of Sherlock Holmes' anthology. Big mistake!!
Sadly within a few minutes of listening to the first story I was talking back to the voice correcting his mistakes - which were many!
I am all for equal opportunities but if you are going to get someone to read a book out loud for payment maybe either get someone who researches things like names or even has a passing knowledge of the subject matter. I'm not even sure whether this person even has English as a first language.
I disliked this book so much that I have deleted it - just in case somehow I accidentally listen to it again.. so to sum up I will be very careful to buy the more authentic Edward Hardwicke audio versions in future and remember quantity is hardly ever better than quality!!
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
