Summary

Can a time machine be used to save the galaxy?

Before teaming up with Tarq, Xornaa was a spy/mercenary with a terrible reputation.

After finishing a successful mission, she receives a mysterious offer, one that involves a lot of money for a seemingly easy job. But she’s gone through the wringer several times in the past, so she has her suspicions, especially when she finds out the Akakies are involved.

The femme fatale mercenary soon realizes that things aren’t as they seem, and her actions could have world-ending consequences.

Can a Xortaag spy with a shady past and questionable motives end up being a force for good in order to save the galaxy? Pick up The Scarlet Queen, the prequel to the blockbuster The Crimson Deathbringer series, and find out for yourself!

A nice addition.

I was given a free copy of this book and I'm leaving an honest and voluntary review.

this is a prequel, but its still a very entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable book.
this serise is incredibly well thought out and delivered with style and quality, it's a must have for sifi lovers.
The narration its faultless as we've come to expect.

Great prequel

Another great story from Sean Robbins. I'm not sure what Stephen Hawking would make of the many time paradoxes thrown about with abandon, but it's a great story nonetheless. There are also lots of ethical issued thrown up in the book which give a weight to the story and are agonised over at length by our hero. Narration was excellent as usual. This is a stand-alone story and leads on to the quadrilogy of the Crimson Deathbringer, but can be read/listened to on its own.

Great Addition

This was a great addition to the series, little bit different due to being a sequel but still as entertaining. If you enjoyed the other stories in the series you’ll love this

Really enjoying this series.

This book isn’t my favourite of the series, but it’s still a really nice addition; but I do prefer the main cast.
A great prequel that continues in the same fashion as the other books.
Great characters and storyline, but it did lose a star for me dealing with time travel as I’m a bit too overly critical of such things… other than that, still a worthy listen and I’ll definitely be waiting for more in the series!
Great narration as always with great atmosphere and character voices.
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

A new adventure!

This book is a prequel to the others, so it has its own timeline and a (mostly) distinct set of characters.

The writing is, as usual, solid and entertaining. New characters are introduced, and the book gathers its own momentum as the storyline unfolds. There's plenty of the usual humour, and once again this is an easy book to pick up and read.

As with the others in this series, the narration from C.J.Grey is excellent.

I've enjoyed this series so far, and this latest instalment did not disappoint, so I'll be looking forward to the next in the series soon. :-)
