Engaging journey through psychology of love

I've read / listened to and completed courses on specific elements of psychology, but not generally specifically to do with love - perhaps with one exception which tackled various personality disorders in this context.

Having recently listened to a series of lectures setting out the history and foundations of psychology, my interest in this area was piqued.

This series of lectures delves in to the psychology of love in some depth, giving alternative theories, and experimental examples. I found it quite enlightening with regards to how I behave in relationships, and how my partners have. The section on domestic violence was a hard listen, but very well done and although this isn't what I listened to the lecture series to learn more about (I've read / listened to books which specifically tackle this subject), I still came away having learned something new.

Wind Goodfriend is a very engaging speaker - I imagine her lectures are really great to experience in person.

Good for drive time

Listened to this whilst driving to work and it was ok, some interesting research theories, quite relatable. I like the fact it wasn’t too long as well. Really easy to follow.

A great listen and relationship check-in

I found this interesting, thought provoking and delivered in a very enjoyable and engaging way.

A great help if you’re in a struggling relationship or single and making sure you’re ready for a new relationship or a great way to check-in with areas ongoing relationships might be taking for granted or can make things even better.

Good intro to the area

Good basic intro to the area, plenty to think about.

My degree was in Psychology, so a lot of the content here was very familiar, but I did still find a few nuggets, theories and new terminology I was glad to hear about.

Not a self-help guide, but a series of lectures that one can use to consider one's own relationships and styles of communicating with loved ones, with a lot of excellent theory, names and studies backing it all up.

Easy to listen to, each half-hour lecture was just enough to take in, though I could certainly have gone for longer on many of the topics.

There is a warning at the start of one lecture about some graphic content, but I didn't have an issue at all, though some may (fantasy/porn references, you can imagine where this might lead).

A pleasant listen, no issues with the narrator.

Good basic information and a topic we should all consider and re-evaluate as part of self-examination.

Try a different lecturer.

Unfortunate bias of lecturer shows through affecting the quality of lecture. Is otherwise interesting topic.

Presents incorrect information

A lot of this was interesting, however the author criticises evolutionary theory as assuming that everyone is heterosexual and not accounting for homosexuality, which is not true. There is a great deal of research that supports an evolutionary argument for homosexuality.
