An unusual murder mystery but great never the less

I really enjoyed this book. The first book was good but I think this book has taken the series to a whole new level. What I love is the very unusual job that the main character has, I think it really works for a cozy mystery series and it certainly leads to some interesting and funny situations. The characters are fun and I like the different relationships Tessa has with each of them, from the grumpy cat that gets his revenge on his humans, to her mother/boss that boss's her about, to the match making friend- all just add a little something to the story. I liked the mystery plot and thought it played out well. Its just a fun cozy paranormal mystery and a great series.
Tessa Randolph is a trainee Grim reaper and her mother, who is also her boss sends her to Miami for the annual reaper conference. Her mum wants her to learn all about her job and take notes, Tessa wants to enjoy a nice time with her friend and maybe spend a little bit of time with the handyman from her building, who is on vacation and know nothing about her job. But when somebody starts to kill off the grim dealers themselves Tessa finds herself investigating the unexpected and unaccounted deaths. With endless boring talks, rivalry between branches to contend with and late night's as well unwanted guests, will she find the time catch the killer?I
I liked the narrator. I have heard her read a number of books and didn't always think she was right for the characters but she was perfect for these characters and sounded just right.
