About this listen
In a remote, Himalayan monastery, Matt Lester has devoted five years of spiritual preparation for this moment: it is his destiny to open an ancient, sealed scroll containing prophetic wisdom the world urgently needs. But when his time comes, violent assailants steal the scroll. Matt is caught up in a dangerous, high-stakes hunt to recover it, turning him from the pursuer to the pursued.
On the other side of the world, the results of scientist Alice Weisenstein’s mind-body healing research are about to be revealed.
Things take a sinister turn when her supervisor goes missing – and she realises she is being followed.
Guided by the lamas, Matt’s search for the scroll takes him to Alice. The pair become caught between powerful influences and escalating threats. Together they must decide who they can really trust.

A transcendental experience!
I feel with each David Michie book I am learning more about Buddhism and set in a fictional story it is a nice way to do it. It also makes me question the way I tend to overthink situations when it is pointed out to characters that they are doing the same. Also any book that includes a cat called Zoro holds my attention and I am looking forward to reading”Awake the Kitten Within”! I do wonder how people who have no experience of meditation would regard the book?

U wont be able to put it down until the end
This book would be of interest to those interested in buddhism. Fiction, history and reality r beautifully intertwined.
I couldn’t stop listening as the story was so intriguing and finished the book in 2.5 days.
I loved the voice of the author who is also the narrator. The language used in descriptions is beautiful and meaning of many described situations profound.

Enjoyable story sadly spoilt by awful narration.
The story is sound but the narration was more like a bland reading than a narration as no attempt was made to bring any of the characters to life - which is disappointing as could be much more enjoyable. Narrator should stick to writing!
