About this listen

Let the darkness rise…in the breathtaking conclusion to award-winning author Abigail Owen’s Dominions series.

King Eidolon has taken everything.

My throne, my Shadowraith, and even my kingdom. I am a queen with no one to rule, and a tattered army that's not even mine. And hope is fading fast.

Now the shadows who once tormented Reven live within me, hissing and wheedling—and enticing me to betray my friends. Which could be deadly for us all. Because without the guy I fell for, without Reven, I am all shadows…and no light.

And the Alignment is almost upon us—the culmination of centuries that have fueled a vengeful king’s festering rage.

We’re outnumbered. We’re underpowered. And even if we could unleash the trapped goddesses, they would destroy the kingdom and everything in it.

Intrigue, plots and betrayal

I waited to share my thoughts until completing the trilogy, and I'm glad I did. This series is a treat for fantasy lovers seeking something beyond the typical tropes.

The writing is strong, the character development is well-crafted and consistent throughout, and the numerous interwoven subplots, or "side quests" as some might call them, all contribute meaningfully to the overarching narrative.

While the pacing occasionally fluctuated between intense action and somewhat slower, less eventful passages, the overall story is compelling and well worth the read.

What truly sets this trilogy apart is its focus on the narrative.

It's refreshing to find a fantasy series that prioritises story over gratuitous profanity and overly descriptive romantic scenes, (something that appears to have become a trend within the urban, paranormal and fantasy genres; and a massive bee in my bonnet!) Therefore; finding this treasure sure was a treat for the ears!

If you're looking for a well-written, engaging fantasy with strong characters and a unique plot, give this trilogy a chance.

You won't be disappointed!
