About this listen

For anyone who is even thinking of getting married. The Stag and Hen Weekend is the story of Phil and Helen, a couple in their 30s about to commit their lives to one another . . . that is of course if they can just manage to get through their respective stag and hen weekends (his: Amsterdam; hers: a country house and day spa in the Peak District) without falling apart. Told in the unique form of two separate stories that have common characters as well as themes and conclusion. Feisty, fun and thought provoking.

What an annoying ending

I love his books but that was a disappointing ending. Great performances though and I did enjoy the rest of the book

Started off well but fell away

Much like the other reviews. The ending was hugely disappointing. Felt like you were expecting more but it didn't come. The ending felt rushed. Definitely agree Phil's story was good. There was an urgency. There was an interest in what was happening. Helen's story couldn't follow or keep up. There are much better Mike Gayle books for sure.

Funny light hearted

What made the experience of listening to The Stag and Hen Weekend the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the two readers really present to listen to

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Stag and Hen Weekend?

The two story's in one

Have you listened to any of Thomas Judd and Jane Collingwood ’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No but would listen to him again

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It was a book that covered normal friendships and normal relationships I think everyone will relate and but moved by something in the book.

No ending!

I love Mike Gayle superb author.
The concept of this book is excellent, very enjoyable written from the stag and then hen weekend perspective.... except I was really looking forward to the ending, yet there isn't one. Very rushed incomplete book. Strange!

A bit far fetched

I likes the Storytel Even though iris not as funny as other boks, but it is uncles why the hen suddenly thinks she can’t marry and is suddenly kissing her other man again. Anyway also open ended. I was waiting for a last part, but we get to really thinks of what ending it will have in the future

Disappointing

First Mike Gayle book that i didn't enjoy. First half was ok but when it got to the Hen weekend - it was cringe. I have listened to 'Half a world away' 'the Hope family calendar' and 'The Man i think i know' and highly recommend all 3 of those - loved them all.
