Summary
Welcome to The Twelve Ghosts of Valentine's Day - 12 truly incredible strange but true stories from the files of Tom Slemen, England's premier expert on the supernatural. With romance and Valentine's Day as a backdrop, hear these dozen tales about ghosts, witches and a variety of weird entities, as well as unearthly and often cruel twists of fate in times and places that range from Liverpool, to London, from 1960s San Francisco and the heart of England's countryside in modern times as well as the Victorian era. Some of these tales will terrify, and some will make you shudder and haunt your dreams, but some will also melt even the hardest heart! Is your heart brave enough to take up the challenge?

A word about the content
Would you try another book written by Tom Slemen or narrated by Norman Gilligan?
Just because it was not for me doesn't mean others wont enjoy the element of "True" ghost stories. I prefer stories with more humour and action to balance the death and realism of life.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Personally I found the narration flat. I realise that voices are a very personal thing and that a narrator who would suit one listener would drive another listener to the brink or to sleep.
Any additional comments?
My strongest feeling about this collection is that it should have a warning about the disturbing content. The first story has a brutal rape described in detail. At least one later story features the suicide of a young girl. Yet another features the appalling murder of a new born baby. I know that not everyone will be troubled by these, as these stories have a fictional aspect and are ghost stories but I think its worth mentioning.
