About this listen

A small-town, accidental pregnancy, sports romance.

We promised our love was forever. A decade later, two little blue lines might settle the score.

You’ve heard of those kids who peak in high school?
Meet my love life.
Garrett Bradford was mine from the moment we saw each other in ninth grade.
Even then, he was a six-foot-four mountain of muscles with bright blue eyes, a wide grin, and a way with his hands.
He was the high school football star, and I was the dance team captain.
We were the storybook cliché… until we weren’t.

Now he’s the most famous offensive lineman in the league, and I’m a buttoned-up, ultra-professional lawyer.
My dancing days are over, and my carefully controlled life is a mess.
Infertility killed my marriage, or that’s what I told myself. Infertility and a cheating ex.
And my inability to get over Garrett Bradford.

One reckless night at his little sister’s wedding is only supposed to be a reunion, a trip down memory lane to a time when life was happier.
Six weeks later, I’m staring at a positive pregnancy test wondering, How did this happen?

I figure I’m on my own until Garrett overhauls his life, moves back to our small town, and shows up every day to massage my feet, hold my hair when I barf, and go with me to all my doctor’s appointments.
Our situation has an end date, just like it did so many years ago.
Unless this little score changes the game and gives us the second chance I thought we’d lost.

(THE WAY WE SCORE is a small-town, second-chance sports romance with reunited high school sweethearts, close proximity, surprise pregnancy, a protective Daddy Bear, parents to lovers, it’s always been you, and found family vibes. No cheating. No cliffhanger. No third-act breakup.)

Garret & Olivia

Patrick Zeller and Samantha Brentmoor as Garrett and Olivia delivered the couple we have been looking forward to meet since the beginning of the series. They were so brilliant and genuine. Sooo good!!
Garrett is the grizzly bear, moody but happy, strong but caring; Olivia is soft and head strong, a good daughter and friend. Both their lives kept them away from their hometown, their hometown was never too far away from them.
Despite breaking up many, many years ago, the chemistry between them is still off the charts when they meet again. An accidental pregnancy brings them together again but sets in motion a set of changes that both Garrett and Olivia have been wishing for in a long time.
This books has all the feel good, small town feels with a duet narration by a cast that could not have been more perfect.

I love this series!

This is the third book in The Bradford Boys Series. This is a beautifully written small-town, second-chance sports romance. Garrett and Olivia's story is so sweet, emotional, passionate, and heartwarming. Garrett is handsome, alpha, caring, and supportive. I loved his determination. Olivia is beautiful, sweet, strong, and smart. They are perfect together. The supporting characters are great. I loved the family ties in the series. The Bradford are amazing. Patrick Zeller and Samantha Brentmoor did an excellent job with this duet narration. They are both fantastic voice actors. I love their voices together. I enjoyed it. I love this series, and I highly recommend it.

Very heartwarming small-town romance

I loved every minute of Garrett and Liv's second chance romance in The Way we Score! Tia Louise wrote such a heartfelt, loving, small-town romance that really leaves you happy and satisfied. I'm definitely looking forward to more from Tia Louise in the future.

Garrett and Liv were high school sweethearts on their road to happily-ever-after, or so Garret thought. The broke up when they wound up at separate colleges, but not because they didn't truly love each other. Fast forward several years, and Liv is back in her hometown after getting divorced to help her mother. Garrett and Liv reconnect and the sparks fly immediately. Even though they go their separate ways again, fate has another plan for them, and Garrett gets a second chance at the dreams he had of raising a family with Liv all those years ago. I love how all-in Garrett is from the moment they reconnect, and how Liv can't help but fall back in love with the boy that always held her heart.

The audiobook, narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and Patrick Zeller, is such a great listen. They both capture their character's personality so well. Patrick does a great job of expressing the quiet emotions and the growly fierceness of Garrett, who is protective of his love. Samantha gives life to Liv's feelings of uncertainty just as much as her yearning and passion for Garrett. They're both such truly gifted voice artists, and they make Tia Louise's writing come to life in a way that truly enhances the words. Well written, fully of love and emotion, amazingly acted. A great audiobook.

4.5 Stars!

This was such a cute and interesting second-chance romance story! Really enjoyed this one! 💕

Garrett and Olivia (Liv) were high school sweethearts. They were very happy and had very straightforward big plans of getting married, raising a family together, and just generally living their happily-ever-after… or so were Garrett’s thoughts. This all comes crashing down when Garret finds out they are about to attend different universities. They try long distance, but things unfortunately don’t work out. Years later, Liv is back in their hometown after getting divorced to help her mother. They bump into each other and reconnect, and it seems they still have lingering feelings for each other. Garrett is determined to prove to Liv that he isn’t as selfish and immature as he was all those years ago and won’t let her walk away as easily. When they are hit with a surprise, they get the second chance they’ve been hoping for.

I really enjoyed this one! It was so cute and heartfelt. I especially loved how all in Garrett was from the get-go. He acknowledged his mistakes from all those years ago and was determined to do things differently this time around. You could really feel the love that they both had for each other. I also loved their banter; they both got each other’s sense of humour and it made me happy reading/listening. This provided all the feels and was truly such a joy to listen to! If you love these romance tropes… small-town, second chance, surprise pregnancy, sports/football romance (the American kind)… pick this up because you won’t be disappointed.

Narrated in duet style by Patrick Zeller and Samantha Brentmoor as Garrett and Liv respectively. They were both amazing. Zeller was excellent at capturing the moody, but happy and caring, grizzly bear personality of Garrett. And Brentmoor was also amazing with her portrayal of the head-strong, but sometimes uncertain personality of Liv. They brought Tia Louise's writing to life. Their voices most definitely enhanced my listening experience. I highly recommend the audiobook!
