Summary

The BRAND NEW instalment in the Yorkshire Murders series from bestseller Wes Markin!

A gruesome find. A missing colleague. A case that hits closer to home…

As winter settles over Yorkshire, DCI Emma Gardner is hoping that work will calm down for everyone. Distracted by the continued disappearance of DI Paul Riddick Emma can’t seem to get her head back in the game. But when a human skull is discovered in a local pub, Emma knows it’s time to get a grip.

With no one local reported missing, and with no body to be found, the team have their work cut and no obvious clues to follow. Who could the skull belong to and what message is the killer trying to leave them? And then the first body is found…

As Emma and the team try desperately to identify the body and the killer, secrets from the past begin to reveal themselves. A home for single mothers. Babies who tragically didn’t make it. A coverup at the highest level.

With the clock ticking, winter has one final cold reveal for Emma. Her old friend Riddick…

Terrible narration

Good story ruined by awful narration, making all Northerners sound stupid.
It ruined the book for me.
Love this author and the plots are great. Just need a new narrator.

I struggled

I found this book too convoluting. It took me a long time to listen to because I really couldn't see the wood for the trees. I think this is a case of the author trying too hard and getting ridiculous.

Twisted Tales

I have grown to like the characters in this series a lot and found these twisted tales both gripping and heartbreaking. I like the fact that these books are not riddled with irrelevant details just to pad them out and thoroughly enjoyed listening to the heart of the plot reveal itself gradually. Can listen all day! Would highly recommend.

Good Listen.

I struggled a little with this story, I've loved the first 4 books in the series but this one, I just don't know. Dual storylines involving Emma's investigation of the discovery of human remains in strange circumstances and Pauls part in the distribution of drugs are interesting enough but failed to grip me. Aubreys narration was OK, one of the best narrators around. Recommended listen for followers of the series.
