About this listen

Sequel to the extraordinary The Name of the Wind, The Wise Man’s Fear is the second instalment of this superb fantasy trilogy from Patrick Rothfuss.

This is the most exciting fantasy series since George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire and a must for all fans of HBO's Game of Thrones. Picking up the tale of Kvothe Kingkiller once again, we follow him into exile, into political intrigue, courtship, adventure, love and magic...and further along the path that has turned Kvothe, the mightiest magician of his age, a legend in his own time, into Kote, the unassuming pub landlord.

Packed with as much magic, adventure and home-grown drama as The Name of the Wind, this is a sequel in every way the equal to its predecessor and a must for all fantasy fans.

Engaging and gripping, The Wise Man’s Fear is the biggest and the best new fantasy novel out there.

My third listen

This book is a masterpiece. Patrick Rothfuss... I really don't know where this man's imagination comes from. Some alternative reality perhaps! The fact that Kvothe has many vulnerabilities, but a keen mind, makes you sit on the edge of your seat when he's faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges. So many life defining quotes in this story too. Going to wait a year for everything to become hazy before I listen to the series again. I really do hope that Rupert Degas is the one to narrate all of the future Name of the Wind series books. It was such a pleasure, once again, to listen to his excellent performance of all of the characters.

Patrick Rothfuss is a God

Wise mans fear and the name of the wind are my two favourite books...ever!
I have read countless fantasy books and these two are the best. I've just finished it for the 4th time and want to listen to them again already. Rupert Degas does such a magical job in narrating.
If you haven't read or listened to them yet...DO IT NOW! you won't regret it.

Simply the best

I am a huge fantasy fan, been reading it all my life from the Hobbit at 11 onwards. Roth fuss is the best of them all, read both these books over and over.
