I really enjoyed this. The characters are flawed and therefore more real and the plot kept me interested.

Another great story starring Amsterdam

2nd in the Peter Vos series.

We are back with the Amsterdam police to solve a kidnapping. This book was less about the characters and lives of the police team and more the city and underclass of Amsterdam. A very good pacy story, which keeps you hooked. You can listen to this book in isolation but why miss out go listen to the first book in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone who like a crime story!

A compelling listen!

This is a well-paced book with strong characters and a brilliant plot. It’s a sad reminder of some of the darker aspects of life but it is handled well and ultimately satisfying. I did get confused at times about who was who, but it was a really good story and I definitely recommend it. Great narration too!

A little confusing

Other reviews had said that the previous book was confusing. I found that ok but did have to rewind a couple of times with this book to try and understand the plot. Worth it in the end as yet another excellent book in the series. Superb narration by Saul Reichlin as always. Highly recommend. Off to listen to the next in the series.

Even better than The Doll's House!

What did you like most about The Wrong Girl?

It has a much better storyline than 'The Doll's House' but it just flowed on from the first book. The characters are really well realised and felt like old friends already.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I know it's obvious but Pieter Vos is my favourite character. He is very intriguing and you really care about him.

What does Saul Reichlin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

He is my equal favourite narrator and could not tell a story badly if he tried!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was indeed! I actually went through it very quickly.

Any additional comments?

I am looking forward to more in this Amsterdam series. I think David Hewson is on to a real winner here. I also like the setting as I know Amsterdam relatively well and I think he captures the atmosphere well.

Dry and Boring

What a slog. Mind numbingly repetitive not helped by the narration where the narrator uses vitually the same tone for all the Dutch females in the story adding, from my point of view, the tale even more confusing.
