About this listen
They say, be careful what you wish for. Matthew Chia should have listened.
All his life, Matthew yearned to be somebody—anyone but the forgettable face in the crowd. Then came the day the sleek red car pulled up, and Mr. Lee offered him the world.
It was everything Matthew ever wanted. Until it became everything he feared.
As Matthew sinks deeper into a world of luxury and sin, he can't shake the feeling that something's not right:
- The homeless man with a hauntingly familiar story
- The nauseating stench clinging to Mr. Lee’s mansion
- The rivals who keep disappearing without a trace
Matthew tells himself it's all in his head. But his heart knows the truth.
Now, trapped in a web of deceit and desire, Matthew must choose between the life he's always wanted and the man he's always been.
Filled with psychological twists and crime thriller turns, The Wrong Mentor will keep you guessing until the very end.

Good thriller with hateful characters!
I didn’t know that a thriller about finance could entertain me this much! And what a cliffhanger!
I went into this without expectations and I had a great experience! I think this is a thriller different from others I’ve read and I quite enjoyed that. I didn’t think that finance could be so interesting (LOL).
I was hooked since the opening and I must say, that was such a clever move by the writer as I was eagerly awaiting when the revelation to that initial part would come!
I found the thriller quite slow in parts, and the main character quite dislikeable in his simplicity and naivety. I found it quite hard to believe that someone that naive and shallow exists, but who knows, the world is a big place that they probably do. This didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the book as there are quite a few twists that kept me eager to know what would happen until the end. And what an end that was! Quite the cliffhanger. Now I need the rest please!
If you don’t mind shallow and hateful characters, but want to read a good thriller, I recommend this one.
Thanks to the author for the opportunity to listen to it and this is my honest opinion.
